If you’re ready to choose a web host, check out the following reviews:

Host Gator

HostGator provides everything you need for an interactive, ever-changing site.   Their plans tend to all have unlimited disk and bandwidth.  One key decision you need to make is do you want hosting for a single domain name or several? HostGator has some of the best capabilities for supporting and running multiple domains of any web host out there.

They have a 99.9% uptime guarantee, excellent tools such as cPanel, 1 click installation scripts for many popular open source tools such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, forum software, etc.  HostGator is a US-based company which is known for outstanding US-based customer support, and I can say that all of my customer services interactions with HostGator have been excellent.  I have used their phone, chat and email based support with great results each time.

1&1 Internet

1&1 Internet is great for small, static sites, meaning sites that have few pages and do not need to be interactive.  The costs are low, but tend to have some more limits as compared to HostGator.  You can also search for and register a domain name with 1&1 Internet.

I have used 1&1 for registering many domain names and for hosting some of them. My experience has been that the tools and hosting were very solid for smaller, static type sites.  I did run into some issues when using some of their tools for building larger, more complex and interactive sites and ended up doing extensive research before deciding to move to HostGator for these more complex sites.

I know a lot of people do host larger sites at 1&1 who are very happy, so my experience may not be representative, so I am just sharing my personal experience.  Their support in my opinion is not as strong as HostGator.  1&1 may provide one of the lowest cost options to register and host a web site while also providing solid uptime especially compared to free hosting services.
WP Engine

Users rave about  WPEngine – here’s a testimonial from their site:

“My site loads ridiculously fast, my page views are up, and my business
is seeing the results. I rest easy at night with the level of support.
My only regret: that I didn’t move to WP Engine sooner.
